TwitchUnity

TwitchUnity was created for TwitchUnity on May 26, 2017, Twitch's site-wide celebration of inclusion and diversity across streams, chats, apps and the wider community. Twitch launched a new global emote for the event, and the artwork shows two purple hands meeting to form a heart.

Twitch asked creators to select the TwitchUnity Community, discuss inclusion with their viewers and use a downloadable graphics package built around the emote. Participating streams rotated onto the Twitch front page, and viewers were encouraged to post TwitchUnity across chats.

The event also connected TwitchUnity to named charity and community programming. Twitch sold a TwitchUnity shirt with proceeds going to Amnesty International, while a three-hour Just Dance broadcast from the Twitch office, hosted by LittleSiha after Twitch Weekly, invited viewers to donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
