twitchRaid

twitchRaid shows a gray cartoon bomb streaking forward with a rainbow trail. The command names one of Twitch's defining community rituals: a raid, where a creator sends their live audience into another channel.

Creators were raiding each other before Twitch built the behavior into the platform. In November 2017 Twitch formalized that community practice with the `/raid` command, a countdown and an automatic transfer that moves participating viewers to the target channel. The bomb's forward motion matches the sudden burst of people and messages that arrives when one community lands in another chat.

Type twitchRaid in Twitch chat to use this emote. Viewers use twitchRaid when a raid starts or lands, to greet an incoming community, to celebrate a streamer sending viewers to another channel, and during the burst of chat activity that follows a raid.
