Twitch Global Emote
TwitchLit
CurrentThe Origin Story
TwitchLit is a purple flame created during Twitch's 2016 integration with Curse, the gaming communication company Twitch agreed to acquire that August. On September 30, Twitch began bringing its identity and chat features into the Curse app: syncing a Twitch account made Twitch emotes available inside Curse, while the app itself gained Twitch's purple color scheme.
Twitch marked the integration with two related emotes. CurseLit became a new global emote for everyone, while TwitchLit was unlocked by downloading Curse and syncing a Twitch account with the app. The flame also fits the slang meaning of "lit" for something exciting, energetic or especially good, giving the old integration reward a straightforward hype use after the Curse promotion itself faded into Twitch history.
