SUBprise

SUBprise joined Twitch during SUBtember 2022 as a close-up of Fairy Modmother. Twitch developed Fairy Modmother with artist and streamer Tom DesLongchamp, gave the character a Twitch account, and used live puppeteering so the Modmother could visit creators' chats in real time, drop Bits, give subscriptions, and interact directly with streamers.

Fairy Modmother later became a central SUBtember character, distributing subscriptions throughout the promotion. The command folds `sub` into `surprise`, matching Twitch's own wording on September 26, 2022, when it opened a final gift-sub offer with `It's a SUBtember surprise!` and announced 25% off one-month gift subscriptions.

Viewers type SUBprise for subscriptions, gift subscriptions, Fairy Modmother callbacks, and SUBtember moments where support arrives as a surprise.
