SoonerLater

SoonerLater is tied to broadcaster Sooner, whose Twitch profile calls his channel the home of the SoonerLater global and jokes about having been carried by Justin.tv. A July 2012 TwitchTV emote guide already listed SoonerLater, placing the command in Twitch's Justin.tv-era vocabulary.

The command survived more than one artwork generation. Viewers were discussing a changed SoonerLater image in December 2016, and an archival upload from the same period preserved an older Twitch version with permission from its original owner.

Historical chat used the command for things expected to happen eventually. A March 2016 GTA: San Andreas speedrun chat used `flip it SoonerLater`; Dota discussion paired it with a prediction that a player would win The International sooner or later; and SaltyBet's `!geese2` command returned `I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU SoonerLater` when Geese Howard appeared.

Viewers type SoonerLater when an expected result has not happened yet but still feels inevitable. Historical examples use it while waiting for a speedrun event, predicting a future tournament result, and greeting a long-awaited SaltyBet character.
