SingsMic

SingsMic is the microphone reaction from Twitch Sings, Twitch's karaoke game built around audience participation. Twitch unveiled the project at TwitchCon 2018, where singers could perform solo or in duets while chat requested songs, issued challenges and used Cheers to trigger effects around the performance.

After a closed beta, Twitch Sings launched publicly at TwitchCon Europe in April 2019. Twitch described it as `how Twitch does karaoke`, with song requests, community duets and Cheer-activated light shows making chat part of the performance.

Twitch announced in September 2020 that Sings would close on January 1, 2021, and released more than 400 additional songs for its final months before shutting the game down. SingsMic remained in the Global set after the product itself ended.

Viewers type SingsMic for singing, karaoke, microphones and Twitch Sings references, especially when the audience is actively participating in a performance.
