Twitch Global Emote
ResidentSleeper
CurrentThe Origin Story
ResidentSleeper is the sleeping face of streamer Oddler from a planned 72-hour Resident Evil marathon. On September 29, 2012, roughly 66 hours into the attempt, exhaustion caught up with him and the stream continued with Oddler asleep on camera. Historical accounts place the sleep at about 65 hours and 43 minutes, with thousands of viewers watching the marathon.
The command preserves both halves of the story. "Resident" points back to Resident Evil, while "Sleeper" describes what happened to Oddler during the marathon. Viewers later voted the sleeping face into Twitch's emote set, turning one exhausted speedrun moment into the platform's standard boredom reaction.
How to Use It
Type ResidentSleeper in Twitch chat to use this emote. Viewers use ResidentSleeper for slow cutscenes, long pauses, repetitive grinding, drawn-out explanations, late-night streams and anything boring enough to make chat joke that it is falling asleep.
