Twitch Global Emote
PunOko
CurrentThe Origin Story
PunOko is the angry member of Twitch's matching anime-schoolgirl reaction set that also includes KonCha and TehePelo. The artwork keeps the same schoolgirl character but changes the expression to a scowl and adds the red comic anger mark.
The command closely matches Japanese anger slang that spread online in the early 2010s. Oko is a clipped form of okoru, "to get angry," while punpun describes a fuming or irritated mood and appears in the widely circulated 2013 phrase geki-oko punpun maru. "Oko" directly matches that anger vocabulary, while "Pun" echoes the punpun anger expression.
How to Use It
Viewers type PunOko in Twitch chat to use it. It fits mock anger, frustration, anime or Japanese-media conversations, playful irritation at a bad game decision, and moments when the red anger mark says more than a generic rage face.
