PowerUpR

PowerUpR is the right half of a two-emote frame created by artist iilucreative. Twitch announced PowerUpL and PowerUpR as winners of a Global Emoticon Vote. The winning design gave chat a two-piece frame that could surround other emotes, words or phrases.

The `R` marks the right side of the frame. PowerUpL opens the purple-flame border from the left and PowerUpR closes it from the right, allowing viewers to place another emote, word or phrase between them. Twitch chat used the pair in constructions such as `PowerUpL LUL PowerUpR`.

In 2017, viewers also circulated `PowerUpL DarkMode PowerUpR`, framing the DarkMode emote between the two halves while invoking Twitch's dark-theme Easter egg.

Viewers type PowerUpL before another emote, word or phrase and PowerUpR after it to close the purple-flame frame around the middle.
