Poooound

Poooound is Twitch's fist-bump reaction: a man in sunglasses pushes a closed fist toward the camera, while the stretched-out command turns pound into an emphatic version of "pound it," another way to offer a fist bump.

By 2021, viewers were using Poooound as a call-and-response emote. ConnorEatsPants viewers answered a "Pound it, or die" post with rows of Poooound, while Philza's offline chat built a "Poooound Pyramid" and once flooded chat with the emote after a moderator challenged viewers to produce enough of them to unlock normal chat again. The fist-bump gesture also gives those greeting, agreement, congratulations, and group-response uses a direct visual match.

Viewers type Poooound in Twitch chat for fist-bump greetings, congratulations, agreement, support, and group-response chains where chat wants to "pound it" together. Repeating the emote also works for stacked or pyramid-style chat games.
