PermaSmug

PermaSmug is an old smug-face global that was already being used as smug punctuation in Twitch copypasta by 2017. It later became closely attached to Dota 2 streamer Gorgc through a long-running lookalike joke. By 2020, Gorgc discussions were pairing PermaSmug with his resigned `it's fine` reactions, and the face became part of recurring community jokes about rough games, doubters, sleep schedules, and calmly agreeing with a co-caster.

The association has lasted for years. In August 2026, Gorgc supporters used PermaSmug as a solidarity symbol during the `#FreeGorgc` campaign, asking viewers to carry the familiar face into official tournament chats.

Viewers type PermaSmug in Twitch chat for smug or self-satisfied reactions and for Gorgc callbacks, especially ironic `it's fine` moments, doubter jokes, and other established community references.
