PeoplesChamp

PeoplesChamp shows Bobby Scar, the Captain Falcon player, commentator and community organizer known in competitive Super Smash Bros. Melee as `The People's Champ`. Scar finished sixth out of 290 players at the original GENESIS, the highest Captain Falcon placement at the tournament, then became a founding member of Melee It On Me and one of the scene's best-known commentators.

Scar joined Twitch in 2013 and served as an early ambassador between the company and the Smash community. His Twitch face therefore belongs to the same Melee culture in which his nickname was already part of his public identity.

One of Scar's best-known commentary lines came at The Big House 4 in 2014. While Mang0 played Hax, Mang0 simply walked toward his opponent and landed a down-smash; Scar responded in disbelief with `Did he just walk up slowly and down smash?` The line became a Smash catchphrase, and later versions inserted PeoplesChamp between the words so Scar's own face punctuated his commentary.

Viewers type PeoplesChamp for Bobby Scar, Melee commentary and `The People's Champ` references. The emote also appears in versions of Scar's `walk up slowly and down smash` catchphrase.
