PartyHat

PartyHat is a purple cone party hat that developed an unusually literal Twitch use through the old `!#showemote` overlay feature. By 2019, viewers were timing PartyHat so the rendered emote would land over a streamer's webcam and appear to sit on their head, turning chat into a small "pin the hat on the streamer" game.

The placement joke remained popular through 2021, when xQc viewers traded successful PartyHat-on-head clips and explained the showemote command to each other. Twitch later gave the same global a second official celebration role through Partner and Affiliate anniversary messaging.

Viewers type PartyHat in Twitch chat for birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, and party moments. It is also a callback to the old showemote game of trying to land the hat on a streamer's head.
