panicBasket

panicBasket is a wicker picnic basket on fire and one of Twitch's classic stream-down reactions. Its joke combines `PANIC` with `PICNIC`: when a broadcast failed, viewers could turn panic into picnic while the burning basket made both ideas visible at once.

The meaning was already official Twitch language by June 2015, when Twitch's HTML5 Chat announcement told viewers not to `panicBasket` if an older browser still needed Flash. Real chat logs preserve the same pattern around outages, with viewers posting `PICNIC`, panicBasket, and `DONT PICNIC` together when a stream suddenly went black.
