OneHand

OneHand is an old Twitch face whose photographed subject has not been securely identified. In Dota 2 culture, viewers used OneHand as shorthand for Ben `Merlini` Wu, the influential Dota player, caster and streamer.

Older Dota chat also paired OneHand with shazamicon because Merlini was strongly associated with playing Zeus. OneHand could point to Merlini while the lightning-symbol emote supplied the Zeus reference.

The Merlini association does not establish who is pictured. A period guide names another streamer as the person in the photograph, but that portrait claim has not been independently corroborated.

Viewers also used OneHand in ethnicity-based stereotyping. That misuse does not establish the identity or ethnicity of the photographed person and should not be treated as normal chat behavior.

Viewers type OneHand for Merlini and older Dota Twitch-chat references. The ethnicity-based stereotype associated with the emote is historical misuse rather than recommended chat behavior.
