Twitch Global Emote
NomNom
CurrentThe Origin Story
NomNom debuted on March 15, 2016 with Twitch.tv/Food, Twitch Creative's new 24/7 channel for cooking and food programming. Twitch opened the channel with all 201 episodes of Julia Child's The French Chef and introduced three new global emotes at the same time: NomNom, ChefFrank and StinkyCheese.
NomNom shows a bitten cookie, turning the familiar `nom nom` eating sound into a literal food reaction. Almost one million viewers watched the Julia Child marathon. Twitch then kept Food running as a 24/7 channel with classic cooking shows, extending the Julia Child launch into a continuing cooking schedule.
How to Use It
Viewers type NomNom for food, cookies, cooking streams, snack breaks and anything that looks especially good to eat. It also works as a callback to Twitch's 2016 Food channel and Julia Child marathon.
