NiceTry showed Chun-Li and arrived immediately before Street Fighter 6 launched in June 2023. Twitch announced that Chun-Li was coming to global chat and demonstrated the new command alongside footage of her fighting in Street Fighter 6.

Chun-Li had already been part of Street Fighter for more than three decades. Capcom describes her as an ICPO officer who pursued M. Bison and Shadaloo after her father's death, and her fast kicks became one of the series' defining fighting styles. NiceTry paired that recognizable fighter with a phrase that already belongs around competitive games. It can praise an attempt while still acknowledging that the attempt failed.

When this emote was active, viewers typed NiceTry in Twitch chat to use it. Viewers used NiceTry during Street Fighter matches after missed reads, dropped combos and close rounds, or more generally when someone made a decent attempt that did not quite work.
