KomodoHype

KomodoHype shows the open-mouthed face of a Komodo dragon. It was already an existing Twitch global before the platform reused the same lizard image during the 2021 search for a new PogChamp.

After Twitch removed the original PogChamp in January 2021, it rotated a different replacement image under the PogChamp command every 24 hours. KomodoHype became one of those temporary replacements and received a warmer response than many of the human faces used during the rotation.

Twitch ended the experiment with The PogChampening on February 12, 2021. Viewers chose between streamer UmiNoKaiju and the existing KomodoHype dragon for the permanent PogChamp image. KomodoHype won with 81 percent of the vote.

The original KomodoHype command remained available after the vote. That left Twitch with two different global commands, KomodoHype and PogChamp, using the same Komodo dragon image but representing separate exact emote identities.
