HassaanChop

HassaanChop shows software engineer Hassaan Markhiani, who worked at Twitch from 2013 to 2018 across teams including Search & Discovery and Creator Experience. One of the systems he later architected was the backend for raids, the feature that moves a live audience from one Twitch channel into another.

The command turns the double-a spelling of Hassaan into a play on `Hassan Chop`, the exclamation associated with Hassan in Chuck Jones's 1957 Looney Tunes short Ali Baba Bunny. Twitch also carried a separate `HassanChop` command with one `a`, so the extra letter distinguishes Markhiani's staff-face emote from that other identity.

Viewers type HassaanChop for Hassaan Markhiani and old Twitch staff references, or for the Looney Tunes `Hassan Chop` wordplay built into the command.
