GayPride

GayPride places the familiar six-stripe rainbow Pride flag inside a heart formed by purple hands. The rainbow flag began in San Francisco in 1978 through Gilbert Baker and collaborators. The original design used eight colors; the six-stripe version became the widely recognized form after hot pink and turquoise were removed as the flag was adapted for production and public display.

Twitch has used Pride-themed global and event emotes for years, including permanent Pride globals and later MegaCheer and Pride campaigns. Because Twitch has reused Pride command names and artwork families across different lifecycle periods, this page does not inherit an old launch date solely from the `GayPride` name. The current exact identity is defined by the heart-and-rainbow asset viewers use today.
