GayPride

GayPride places the familiar six-stripe rainbow Pride flag inside a heart formed by purple hands. The rainbow flag was created in San Francisco in 1978 by Gilbert Baker and collaborators. Its original version used eight colors; the six-stripe form became the widely recognized design after hot pink and turquoise were removed as the flag was adapted for production and public display.

The GayPride command itself dates back to Twitch's June 2018 Pride program, when Twitch introduced four permanent Pride globals based on its rainbow, bisexual, transgender and lesbian shirt designs. The current heart-and-flag artwork keeps the rainbow reference while using the purple-hand frame shared by Twitch's other identity-specific Pride globals.
