FrankerZ

FrankerZ shows Frankie, a real dog from the family of early Twitch staffer Ernest Le. The command came first: historical TwitchTVFaces material records that Le sometimes spoke in a different voice while referring to himself as `Frankerz`, after which a Twitch staff member used a photograph of Frankie for the emote. A January 31, 2012 post about Twitch emoticons already included the dog face.

Speedrunning gave FrankerZ a second vocabulary almost immediately. MarkSoupial uploaded `Marathon Anthem 2012 (Apocalypse 2012 Edit)` on November 28, 2012 with a vocal track repeatedly chanting `FrankerZ`. In a January 2013 speedrunning discussion, viewers were already calling the emote `Dog Face no space`, while another participant linked directly to the old FrankerZ origin page to explain the dog.

Frankie sadly passed away at age eight on July 31, 2018. Ernest and Dennis Le announced his passing, and Twitch asked viewers to pay their respects by posting FrankerZ; recorded usage rose to 185,625 the following day. In 2022, Cult of the Lamb made FrankerZ one of three Twitch Drop follower forms alongside separate RalpherZ and PogChamp forms.

Viewers type FrankerZ in Twitch chat when a dog appears on stream, for sarcastic or playful reactions, and for old speedrunning `Dog Face no space` callbacks. FrankerZ also carries a documented memorial use because Twitch itself asked viewers to post the emote for Frankie after he sadly passed away in 2018.
