FailFish shows British streamer Tim "Spamfish" Mines covering his face with one hand in a facepalm. The command replaces "Spam" in Spamfish with "Fail," keeping his handle recognizable while pairing it with a pose associated with disappointment and embarrassment.

Mines was already publicly describing himself as the FailFish face in 2014, joking that people who had never watched his stream had probably still seen him facepalming on Twitch. Twitch later reinforced that meaning with a FailFish Cheermote built around an "epic fail" reaction.
