EWCcrush

The Origin Story

EWCcrush was created for the 2025 Esports World Cup as part of Twitch's partnership with the Esports World Cup Foundation. Its name came from the tournament's Key Crush ceremony, where an eliminated competitor surrendered a personal player key and the winner could crush it.

The ritual made elimination physical. Broken key fragments were preserved as part of the event's trophy system. The command combined “EWC” with the action at the center of that ceremony: “crush.” Twitch added the 2025 emote on June 16 and removed it on September 1.

How to Use It

When this emote was active, viewers typed EWCcrush in Twitch chat to use it. Viewers used it during Esports World Cup matches, especially after eliminations, decisive wins and key-crushing moments, or when one player or team had convincingly ended another competitor's run.
