:P

:P is Twitch's tongue-out family. Read sideways, the P becomes a mouth with a tongue sticking out, and Twitch's robot artwork renders that idea literally with open eyes and a bright red tongue. It is the open-eyed counterpart to the winking ;P family.

The family accepts :P, :p, :-P, and :-p. Changing the letter case alters only the keyboard spelling, while the hyphen adds the optional nose found in older emoticons. Twitch keeps all four inputs tied to the same tongue-out reaction.

Viewers type :P in Twitch chat to use this emote. The same artwork family includes :p, :-P, and :-p. It works for silliness, playful teasing, a deliberately unserious comment, joking frustration, or a moment when sticking out a tongue says more than a normal smile.
