CerberusDog

The Origin Story

CerberusDog was a Twitch global emote created for the Black Ops 6 "Rogue Shadow Ops" campaign, an interactive promotion that treated Twitch chat like part of a covert mission. Viewers worked with participating streamers to solve riddles and puzzles, and the campaign used the emote itself as a gameplay tool: chat could spam it to help unlock doors, crack safes and move the mission forward. After the riddles were completed and two "nabbed" creators were rescued, Twitch told viewers they could keep CerberusDog as a reward.

The Cerberus name was carefully chosen. "Cerberus" had been used as a codename around Black Ops 6 before reveal, and the game's early teaser imagery included a three-headed dog emblem. That imagery points back to Cerberus from Greek mythology, the multi-headed hound that guards the entrance to the Underworld. CerberusDog therefore connected the game's secretive pre-release identity, the campaign's puzzle-solving theme and the reward viewers carried out of the mission.

How to Use It

When this emote was active, viewers typed CerberusDog in Twitch chat to use it. Viewers used CerberusDog while solving Black Ops 6 campaign puzzles, celebrating mission progress, reacting to secret intel and conspiratorial reveals, and marking "mission success" moments after the community worked together.
