Butterfinger

Butterfinger showed the candy bar's yellow wrapper and blue-and-red wordmark, making the product name the dominant feature of the emote. The candy was promoted as early as 1923, but "butterfingers" was already a sports term for a player who dropped or failed to hold a ball. That older meaning gives the command a second reading beyond the candy brand: it can also describe a dropped catch or clumsy mistake.

Butterfinger also had an established Twitch and gaming presence under its "Game Better with Butterfinger" branding. At TwitchCon San Diego in 2022, the brand ran an Overwatch challenge that ended with successful attendees facing a squad of Butterfinger Twitch streamers.

When this emote was active, viewers typed Butterfinger in Twitch chat to use it. Viewers used it for Butterfinger references, candy or snack discussions, food breaks, dropped catches, clumsy plays, "butterfingers" jokes and gaming promotions involving the brand.
