BratChat

BratChat was created for Charli XCX's October 10, 2024 TwitchMusic livestream from Storm King Art Center in New York, where she played Brat and It's Completely Different but Also Still Brat before the remix album's release the next day. Twitch relaunched its TwitchMusic channel for the event and made BratChat as a custom global.

The emote uses the same acid-green field and plain black lowercase typography that defined Brat's visual identity, but replaces the album title with `chat`. The Storm King stream reached about 35,900 viewers, while Twitch's 2024 recap later counted 3.1 million BratChat uses. The emote therefore spread far beyond the audience that watched the event that created it.

Viewers type BratChat in Twitch chat for Charli XCX and Brat references, pop-music streams, acid-green "brat summer" jokes, or moments where `chat` itself is the punchline. It is also a direct visual callback to the Storm King listening party.
