BlowTheWhistle

BlowTheWhistle came from EA SPORTS FC Week on Twitch, the September 27 to October 5, 2023 launch celebration for EA SPORTS FC 24. Twitch and EA unveiled a new Global Emote for the week, supplied creators with an FC 24 stream kit and closed the campaign with a Twitch Rivals tournament featuring 32 North American and European streamers competing for a share of $150,000.

The emote shows a black referee whistle carrying the bright green EA SPORTS FC mark. EA says the triangular FC identity was built from football's own visual language, including passing triangles, set plays, isometric angles from early football games and the player indicator that appears above footballers on screen. Putting that mark on a whistle joins the new FC brand to the object referees use to stop play and signal decisions.

When this emote was active, viewers typed BlowTheWhistle in Twitch chat to use it. Viewers used it during EA SPORTS FC streams for fouls, controversial calls, stoppages, restarts, full-time moments and situations where chat wanted the action brought to a halt.
