BigBrother

BigBrother is an old Twitch face global that became unofficial Tyler1 shorthand because the man in the photograph resembles the League of Legends streamer. A 2016 academic study of Twitch chat explicitly described the resemblance as coincidental, while Tyler1 copypastas from the same era used BigBrother as a stand-in for his face.

By January 2017, one copypasta made the relationship explicit by mocking the idea of subscribing to Tyler1 "when his emote is free," with BigBrother repeated throughout the message. That is the useful distinction: BigBrother became part of Tyler1 culture without actually being a verified portrait of Tyler1.

Viewers type BigBrother in Twitch chat for Tyler1 callbacks, especially old-school League of Legends, Draven, rage, toxicity, or "reformed" jokes. The resemblance itself is part of the joke, but the person pictured is not established as Tyler1.
