BatChest shows former Twitch administrator Curtis Scott wearing illuminated goggles with his mouth open in exaggerated excitement. The wide-eyed expression existed as a global before its biggest popularity surge, but Forsen's community helped turn BatChest into one of Twitch's defining ironic hype reactions during 2021.

The joke is that the excitement is intentionally too large for the subject. BatChest became a way to parody breathless enthusiasm around games, Marvel and superhero reveals, Star Wars, anime and other enthusiast culture.
