Twitch Global Emote

FrankerZ

Current
FrankerZ

The Origin Story

FrankerZ shows Frankie, a miniature dachshund owned by Twitch staff member and streamer Ernest Le. During his streams, Ernest Le would often refer to himself or put on a voice as his pet dog Frankie. The phrase "FrankerZ" came out of those broadcasts and became the chat command for Frankie's face.

Frankie sadly passed away in July 2018. His face is still remembered as one of Twitch's most historic global emotes and a piece of early Twitch history. The emote's popularity also grew alongside FrankerFaceZ (FFZ), the third-party Twitch browser extension that lets viewers add custom emotes and personalize chat.

How to Use It

Type FrankerZ in Twitch chat to use this emote. In Twitch culture, especially in speedrunning communities, FrankerZ gets spammed for sarcasm, playfulness, or mock confusion. People also drop it when a streamer mentions a dog, a dog shows up on screen, or someone acts like a "good boy."
