4KLimon

4KLimon was a Twitch global emote built around one of ElRubius's longest-running community jokes. The "4K lemon" started in early 2016 after Rubius jokingly asked viewers for likes if they wanted a lemon, then insisted it was not an ordinary fruit but a "latest generation" lemon in Full HD and 4K. Viewers kept asking where their promised lemons were, while Rubius extended the bit with increasingly ridiculous excuses about delays and cultivation problems.

The joke eventually became part of his 20-million-subscriber celebration. Rubius finally showed physical 4K lemon figures and continued the gag with "Limonada", a one-word tweet used for a giveaway that was retweeted more than a million times and became one of the year's biggest Twitter posts. By the time 4KLimon appeared as a Twitch global emote, the lemon was already a recognizable piece of Spanish-language internet lore. The command preserved the deliberately absurd idea that a piece of fruit could be upgraded like a television.

When this emote was active, viewers typed 4KLimon in Twitch chat to use it. Viewers used 4KLimon for ElRubius references, lemon jokes, deliberately absurd "4K" or Full HD jokes and nostalgic callbacks to the long-running promise of the impossible high-definition lemon.
